This month started out by moving into our space for the computer lab.
That was very uplifting.
Today I received the letter we have been waiting for. We have our formal letter of approval for our 501c(3) status from the IRS. We first applied Nov 2009. Every meeting for the last year has been consumed by this process.
Now with this behind us, we can move forward with many projects for our community.

We have a good start setting up the computer lab. We have to finish one more table, and set up the computers.
Good morning
We are moving into our Classroom. We are setting up 9 workstations for learning computer skills. We are making progress. Hopefully we will be operational around the 6th of April.
We had our first public meeting in the lab to discuss the future expansion. I want to thank everyone who attended. There was a lot of good input and ideas for the future educational programs.
We have some issues. We were going to have access to fiber optics the second week of April. It is now postponed until the Okanogan county PUD decides to install it. Time unknown now.
We were going to have our first presentation on April 11 th. 2012. We were going to show a educational webinar about government contracts. We were going to set up so a small group of people could participate with this webinar, and have a connection after the program to talk one on one. But it does not look like we can have the bandwidth needed. We are still trying to find options.
We have been working on assembly of the work stations. Putting together our office. and getting the computers loaded with software. Things are moving forward.
Thanks again everyone for all your help.

Great News.
We have signed a lease for the Computer lab!
It has been a long haul. We have space at the Twisp PDA where we are placing a computer lab. We hope to have it put together by the third week in April. At this time we have plan plotters, scanners, printers, video projector, computers ready to install.
The lab will be used for teaching computer use and skills in our community. We will be instructing on the use of software. Subjects will be word processing, spread sheets, data bases, presentation type programs, etc. We are also preparing to hold classes on CAD (computer aided Design), CAM (computer aided machining), accounting (quick books), Graphics ( Printshop) , maybe Video editing, etc.
If there are programs you would like to see taught, drop me a email. We are trying to find programs of interest of our community.
We are looking for some donations, money, machines, software, and instructors. We would like to have a few more computers, with windows 7. If you can help, let me know. Email stevekreider@invent-manufacture.com
Thanks
Steve

New articles on pages- Patents, and Helpfull information
Good morning. We have removed the Links page, and the Inventor Helpers page in order to comply with the request of the IRS. We need to distance ourselves from commercial association to have a Non profit status. The sites focus will be on educational materials. We will continue to supply how to make things, and how to perform processes etc. We hope the changes we make on the site, and the Invention Works will comply with a non profit status. Please bear with us, we are trying to make this work.
The Invention Works will soon have thier own web page. It is currently being directed to the invent-manufacture site. We have modified this site at their request to comply with IRS non profit standards to assist The Invention Works. We totally support what they are trying to do.

The propsed computer lab rent has gone up another $100.00 a month higher than previously discussed. So we are trying to find out where we can find more $. We will have to start looking for classes, and revenue sources to make this community program happen.
We are still working with the IRS to complete our exempt classification. They are reluctant to give us an exemption because we work with individuals and businesses to improve their situation. Go figure. We are still working to make it happen. It really takes a long time.
It appears they don't like our helper page. They feel putting people together with helpers gives members specific advantage that can not happen in a non profit. I have explained that there is nothing specific about it. It is just general information, like a bulletin board would be. Anyone can contact any of the helpers. These people may or may not be part of the Invention Works. They do not work for the invention works.
It seems that helped clear it up. Hope it works out. 11-19-2011
What do you think?
We are looking at building a cnc router for our group. Would you like to participate? It would be a great learning experiance. Learn building, design, cnc programing etc, hands on.
We are moving foward with our computer lab. We are looking for some programs to teach with. Cad, graphics, accounting, office suites, cam programs etc.
We hope to have it operational in a couple months.
We are working on more required classes for licenses. CEU classes for electricians, plumbers, drillers, forklift operators as well as osha, DOT, etc. Keep checking as we get these things together. 11-12-2011

Great day. We purchased 6 computers for the Twisp Works computer lab from Central Washington University today. These will be used, along with a couple computers that have been donated. These will be in the computer lab at the Twisp Works when it is completed.
We also purchased a video projector for the lab. It will be installed to facilitate training. The lab and projector will be available for presentations from businesses, clubs, educational programs. We hope this will be helpful for many in the community.
We are going to find useful software programs to install on these computers. We would like to see some accounting programs like quick books, Microsoft office, Cad and Cad cam programs for designers. We would like to provide some video editing and graphics programs, along with some marketing software. If you have ideas give us a shout.
The Invention Works is making little steps to help the people at Twisp Works create a great facility.

Wow, things have been so busy. We are working on creating a computer lab at the twisp PDA. This will be a place to have computer classes, demonstrations, presentations, access for the public.
We want to be able to have programs available for people to use that they normally would not purchase due to price, need, or complexity. People could use these at this lab as needed.
The lab would be a good place for businesses to have presentations, and meetings with clients.
John Andrus of NCI Data com has offered to give us a couple computers he may have available. I have been in touch with Central Wa College , They have some computers available that we can purchase at a good price. We hope to get there to pick some up. Details are being worked out. They sell these surplus items to Cities towns, municipalities.

Hi The board members have been so busy this spring that we have not been able to accomplish the things we want to do with this group.
We are now back on track. There is a meeting on monday the 20th. We will be working on our 5o1 c application. The IRS wants us to be a 501c6, not what we rally want, but we will be looking over the options. We have to have our response in by the 23rd.
We will be discussing the purchase of some computers for training and member uses.
We are moving forward on our casting class and projects. Hope to do it this summer. It should prove very interesting class.

Good morning
Tues Nov 16 2010 I had a meeting with Mark and Maggie of the Twisp PDA, with Roni Holder Director of Economic Alliance and Jennifer from the NCW Economic Development District.
The Invention Works proposed a Business and product fair to the Twisp PDA. I have asked the Economic alliance and the NCW EDD to participate. They are ready to participate. The concept was very well received. This project should happen fall of 2011 ( Sept.)
Our concept is to bring together inventors, manufacturers, wholesalers, to learn of new products in development, ready to mfg, or being manufactured. To find new markets, and outlets for their products. Retailers, wholesalers, marketer will find new products to sell. This should be great opportunity for cottage industries, retailers, wholesalers, distributor and major manufacturers.
We will show businesses why North Central Washington is a great place to locate a business.
We plan on displays of new technologies, to help advance businesses and employment opportunities. Businesses will have presentations on their new products.
We will have seminars on subjects like marketing, finance, gov regs, and internet opportunities.
I would like to see this as a family type activity, That is why am trying to promote this as a fair like atmosphere, with a lot of local participation.
As time moves on we will be asking for help. We are going to have to raise money to pull this off. Any donations of time or money will be gratefully appreciated.
We had our general meeting Thursday Nov 18 at the Country Town Motel. We voted on new board members. Roy Wilson is new conductor, Hanna Kinzle is Secretary, Scott Goodman is Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Stephen Kreider is Chairman. These members will act under the terms of the bi laws of the Invention Works. We are working on finding place for the upcoming classes.

Good morning;
We are looking at putting together some classes. These would first be introductory classes, Probably 2 days each.
We are still trying to put them together, we dont know the price time or dates yet.
Please give us some input. What you would like to see in the classes. Fees for the classes would be used to support the group, purchase equipment, etc.
Visit the New "INVENTION WORKS" page. It is about the proposed facitlity the invent-manufacture group is proposing
Welcome. This site is for inventors, manufactures, people with inventions, or ideas for a product they would like to manufacture or see manufactured. If you have invented a product, or want to invent an item, join our inventing and manufacturing site. Machinist, plastic molders, welders, business persons, fixit people, metal casters, fabricators, marketing people, all are welcome to visit.. invent-manufacture.com is for anyone with inventing-manufacturing in their blood.
Note product ideas come in all shapes and sizes. Food products to saws, toothpaste to adjustable wrenches. Most anything can be manufactured. Some can be remanufactured, old retired patents, improved items, public domain items, and new items need produced. There have been many sucessful items produced in areas the size of a garage.
You can be a part of the solution!
.
Please have fun on my site. I am providing this for a place to share knowledge of creating products to be manufactured in our communitites, where ever it is. Inventing and Manufacturing products can be a very positive influance on a community. Can anyone provide information on recycling plastics, and the use of recycling plastic? Recycling materials for use in new products should be a large topic. Plastics should be a big recycle item. Injection molding, and rotational molding can be big topics. I would like people to share how to cast metals, building and buying metal casting furnaces, and casting supplies. Machining metals, share new and old processes. All forms of mold making. This site is just a start and will grow and change with time. Thanks Stephen Kreider
Good morning: Are you willing to write a short article for us? I am looking for volunteers to share a little knowledge with us. If you are up to it, send me an original article related to inventing or manufacturing. Experiences with patenting, casting, molding, drawing, cad programs, finance, grants, machining, equipment, about anything related. Must be original, no copyrighted material. send to SteveKreider@invent-manufacture.com
Visit our Forum. I have started a temporary forum. Use the Message board. Click on the forum button on the left side of page. On the forum page click on the Message Board button. I will be changing it as time allows. This will let you post a mix of topics for now. Thanks Steve
